NUR 1207 — Fundamental Nursing Skills

The purpose of this course is to provide the student with knowledge and skills necessary to provide safe, efficient direct care services to clients. The course focuses on fundamental nursing skills that assist the client to meet basic needs to maintain and/or restore optimal health. Modification of procedures is addressed to provide age-specific care and the concept of culturally congruent care is introduced. This course is for any person interested in developing direct client care skills and may be used as a bridge course for the nursing program for qualified health care workers.
