PHB 1220 — Phlebotomy Theory

This course introduces the student to anatomy, physiology, and laboratory terminology and their application in phlebotomy and specimen collection. Current phlebotomy and laboratory issues, including professionalism and ethical/legal responsibilities, pertaining to phlebotomists are reviewed. Basic phlebotomy techniques, incorporating infection control, standard precautions and safety in the laboratory are demonstrated and practiced.
