MUS 27 — HISTORY OF JAZZ

This course introduces the history and development of musical styles, genres, forms, techniques, musicians, and the social-political, and economic contexts of jazz. Emphasis is on history, musicians, the nature of the styles, and the various other contexts of jazz. May require attendance at live concerts.
