BUS 216 — Nonprofit Management
This course is designed to enhance understanding of nonprofit organizations, their role in the community and how a nonprofit organization works. Topics include an overview of nonprofit structure, volunteering, community responsibility, grant writing, nonprofit law, nonprofit finances, and board member responsibilities. Ethics will be embedded in the course. Area nonprofit organizations will be discussed in the course, and grants will be studied to increase students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Prerequisites: ENG 101
