Discussion of the historical and philosophical background to the criminal justice system. The three major components of the criminal justice system, the police, courts, and corrections, will be emphasized including the study of their evolution, structure, agencies, career opportunities and requirements, responsibilities, and ethics. Examine the role of the Constitution and state and federal laws and the current issues surrounding each.
