ECD 240 — Field Work in Early Childhood Development (3-6 years)

This course is designed to give the student experience implementing Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) in an early childhood education classroom (ages 3-6 years). Under the supervision of an experienced early childhood teacher, each student will develop basic interaction, guidance, observation and assessment techniques. Lesson plans will be developed and then implemented at the field placement site. The student will spend a minimum of 90 hours at the fieldwork site. Students will assemble a professional portfolio which should include accomplishments from the early childhood program.

Prerequisites: ECD 190, ECD 201
