ENG 218 — Technical and Professional Writing

English 218 focuses on the principles of technical and professional writing. Using real-world contexts, students practice various document modes and formats. They exercise critical thinking skills by analyzing purpose and audience, undertaking research to develop content, and selecting the appropriate style to resolve specific communication problems. Using current technologies, students incorporate basic graphics and page design techniques into their computer-generated documents. To pass the course, students are required to write and submit a capstone project that demonstrates proficiency with various technical and professional writing principles studied during the semester.

Prerequisites: ENGLISH 101
