HIS 210 — The American Civil War
This course presents a general survey of the major political, economic, social, and cultural influences as each has impacted the Civil War. It will focus upon the period preceding the Civil War, discuss the significant battles of the Civil War, and conclude with a review of the condition at the time of cessation of hostilities. The course will also analyze the historical effects of the Civil War on the American political process, the military, social programs, and the economic system.
