HIS 261 — Dialogues in Honor and Sacrifice

This course is designed specifically for student veterans to explore the concepts of honor and sacrifice through an examination of soldiers’ experiences in the U.S. Civil War and the Vietnam War. The course encompasses disciplines throughout the humanities, including but not limited to, art, music, literature, poetry, writing, film, and history to guide student veterans through the experiences of Civil War and Vietnam War soldiers. This course requires a 3-day group trip to Washington DC and Gettysburg to visit national monuments, museums, and historic battlefields.
