HUS 101 — Introduction to Human Services

This course is an introduction to the field of human services, social work and counseling. This course will focus on the history, scope and current status of the helping professions. The students will explore the impact of personal/cultural values, technical vocabulary and techniques used in the various delivery systems. This course introduces students to cultural competency and the skills needed to understand, communicate with and effectively interact with people
