HUS 210 — Issues and Ethics in the Helping Professions
This course is designed to help students develop a framework for ethical behavior and to become more effective in addressing ethical issues in the field of Human Services and Addiction Studies. This course will use the standards of National Association of Social Workers, American Counseling Association, American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, Council on Human Service Education, CASAC Canon of Ethics and American Psychological Association to build a theoretical framework for approaching ethical dilemmas in a systematic manner. This course discusses cultural competency and the skills needed to understand, communicate with and effectively interact with people across diverse cultures.
Prerequisites: HUS 101
