MTH 174 — Mathematical Probability and Statistics 1
This course is a study of the scientific method and the role of probability and statistics in making inferences based on observed data. Topics include descriptive statistics, correlation and linear regression, the Method of Least Squares, probability, the binomial random variable, the normal random variable, sampling distributions, and statistical inference including single-sample estimation and single and two-sample hypothesis testing using the t, z, and X squared distributions.
