NET 131 — Local Area Networks
Students in this course learn the concepts, technologies, components and protocols inherent in today’s local area networking environments. They will see how computers are connected together to form peer-to-peer, server-based networks, back-bone networks, and discover the functionality and uses of a router and switch. Commonly used network operating systems are introduced in this course. Various LAN technologies as well as wireless LAN technologies are explained. Network security topics are integrated throughout the course.
