NUR 231A — Medical/Surgical 2
NUR 231A builds on the nursing theory and skills previously learned. Performance improves after the advanced beginner has experience coping with more complex real situations. Previously learned concepts are expanded and guide the student as they focus on clients with endocrine, nutrition, elimination, and psychosocial responses leading to illness of an acute/chronic nature. The competent student begins to develop a plan of care based on the considerable conscious, abstract, analytic contemplations of the problem and begins to achieve efficiency and organization. The student develops long-term goals for clients expanding the attributes of current to future situations. Principles of health teaching are integrated and more complex technical skills are developed.
