This course applies the basic principles of biology to microorganisms. Students will compare the structure and function of prokaryotes, eukaryotes and viruses. Other topics will include antimicrobial therapy and immunity. The laboratory activities will include cultivation techniques, microscopy, biochemical assays, immunoassays, and identification.
