ECE158 — Introduction to Exceptionalities in Early Childhood

This course provides a comprehensive overview of teaching and working with young children with disabilities. Students will learn about different types of disabilities and inclusionary practice through an overview of current and historical practices. Observation, assessment, environmental analysis, and curriculum will be discussed as each relates to modifications and adaptations in practice. The course will also review typical behavior-related challenges, discipline, and the development of collaborative relationships with families and service providers.
