ETC245 — Networking Applications Lab
The Networking Applications Lab is a hands-on approach, where students develop the knowledge and skills necessary in termination, testing, and certification of twisted-pair cable, coax cable, and fiber optic cables. Each student is required to build and configure network premices wiring including running twisted pair cable, punch-down racks, data boxes, network switches and patch panels. The network backbone will be connected using full-duplex fiber-optic cable. Industry standard test equipment such as the Fluke DSX-5000 cable and fiber-optic analyzer and the Fujikura 70S Fusion Splicer will be used throughout the course. This course meets the specifications and prepares students for three professional industry certifications: (1) CompTIA Network+ Certification. (2) TestOut Network PRO Certification Performance Certification. (3) ETA Fiber Optics and Data Cabling Certifications.
