This course covers the basic principles of compiling statistics for health care facilities. Topics include definitions of terms, analysis of hospital services, monthly and annual reports, statistical formulas, and report writing. Also covered are creation and maintenance of indexes and registers and their correlation when compiling statistics. Students will analyze statistical information utilized in Health Management Information Systems. This course introduces and compares various third-party payer models, their billing requirements, and claims processing.

Prerequisites: CPT115, HIT101, MAS102, MAT111
