HIT222 — CPT-4-Coding

This course provides the Health Information Management student coding instruction in CPT-4/ HCPCS. Students will be expected to apply decision-making in record review for complete, accurate, and timely coding. CPT-4/ HCPCS coding will also be practiced and applied in conjunction with ICD-10-CM, for hospital ambulatory surgery and the physician’s office. The CMS developed prospective payment system for ambulatory care will be reviewed. Students will study and apply ethical coding standards.
