An analysis of the fundamental institutions, functions, and goals of the basic sectors in American capitalism; current macroeconomic issues; national income accounting; application of economic principles and concepts to the U.S. economy; the effects of money, banking, monetary, and fiscal policies. Includes analysis of U.S. economic growth and its role in the global economy and a microeconomic analysis of supply and demand in a perfectly competitive market structure.Successful completion of this course satisfies one Civic Engagement interaction.
