SCI 3700 — Dev in the Phys Sciences w/Lab
Balancing potential benefits and risks associated with modern chemical sciences in a technological society. Selected topics include: plastics, energy production, nuclear chemistry, semiconductors, drug design, personal care products, the earth as a resource, air and water pollution, ozone layer depletion, global warming, acid rain and nuclear waste. Laboratory work coordinated with lectures. Student must complete SCI 3700 Laboratory - Initial Student Safety Instruction & Certification prior to the first laboratory meeting.
