Introduces the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to conduct comprehensive and focused health assessments across the lifespan. Emphasis is placed on developing interviewing techniques, health histories, and physical examination skills using a systematic head-to-toe and systems-based approach. Teaches integrating normal findings with recognition of deviations that may indicate actual or potential health problems. Cultural, developmental, and psychosocial considerations in health assessment are explored to support holistic, patient-centered care.
