Introduces Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer+ (LGBTQ+) studies. Explores the impact of social, cultural, historical and political factors on LGBTQ+ individuals and communities. Studies the social construction of LGBTQ+ persons and cultures across time and place, theoretical debates regarding sexual orientation, identity formation, LGBTQ+ people of color, gender roles and gender identity, homophobia, and HIV/AIDS.
