CIS 140 - Networking Fundamentals CIS 140 - Networking Fundamentals This course is an introduction to Local Area Networks (LANS). Topics covered include: basic networking concepts, hardware and software components, protocols, standards, network topologies, transmission media, virtualization, wireless technologies, Security and Network Administration. Students will gain the technical skills to begin a career in installing, configuring and troubleshooting computer networks. Students will also be introduced to the fundamentals of network planning and design. Primary focus of the class is the training necessary to complete the Net certification exam.
