This course introduces students to the fundamental principles of intellectual property (IP) law and the practical skills paralegals need to assist in this dynamic area of practice. Students will explore four major types of intellectual property - copyrights, trademarks, patents and trade secrets - and examine how each protects creative and commercial assets in today's knowledge-based economy.
