HUA 200 — Art of the Twentieth Century

This course explores the history of various styles and forms of Western painting and sculpture from the Impressionist period to the present. Such diverse styles of Modern Art as Cubism, Dada and Surrealism, Expressionism and the more recent styles of Pop and Conceptual Art, will be examined and discussed. Consideration will be given to the understanding of abstract and non-objective art as well as the influences which African and Eastern art have had on the development of modern art styles.
