HUM 109 — World Music

This course introduces students to the diverse musical cultures of the world, and surveys the musical styles of Africa, Asia, South America, the Middle East, and the Caribbean. From the rhythms of African percussion, to the vibrancy of Brazilian Samba, students will gain a new understanding of the musical genres that have shaped cultures globally.
