HUM 170 — Guitar I
This course is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of acoustic guitar technique: strumming/picking technique, correct fingerings and tuning the guitar. Students will be introduced to the rudiments of music (types of notes, note values, time signatures, chord structure and scales). Students will learn to read and perform simple guitar melodies/chords and they need not have had previous guitar instruction.
