This course provides the student with an overview of literature and performancetechniques for the musical theatre stage. The vocal techniques of belt, legit, and mix are examined along with their appropriate application historically, in soloperformance, ensemble singing, and in comedic/dramatic literature. Students learn dramatical analysis of a lyric and its application in acting the song. The final project is a staged showcase with each student performing in both a lead and supporting role.
