HUP 275 — Landmarks in Philosophy

This capstone course engages students in the study of key philosophical worksby such major philosophers as Plato, Aristotle, Augustine, Aquinas, Descartes,Hume, Kant, Marx, Russell, Wittgenstein, and Sartre chosen from thefollowing periods: ancient, medieval, modern, contemporary. Building on theirprevious familiarity with these thinkers, students will develop a coherentframework for understanding philosophy, and explore and synthesize thecentral themes of philosophical study.
