SSS 102 — Social Movements
This course examines the political, and cultural conditions and processes involved in the formation and functioning of social movements. Social movements are understood as the organized, collective efforts of people to influence the direction of social change. Against the background of a broad historical and cross-cultural perspective, emphasis will be on social movements in the USA, including the labor movement, the civil rights movement and the women's movement.CUNY Pathways: Flexible Core-Individual & Society
