SSY 112 — Introduction to Dis/Ability
This course examines dis/ability from an interdisciplinary perspective of psychology and disability studies. This course examines dis/ability as socially, culturally, historically, and spatially constructed, and its intersections with race, gender, sexuality and class. The course presents innovative theoretical conceptions of dis/ability and practices based on principles of inclusion and social justice, with a special focus on the context of research, education, mental health, and health care.CUNY Pathways: Flexible Core-Individual & Society
