USM 100 — Gateway College Math
The USM 100 course will focus on developing students’ proficiency in arithmetic and elementary algebra. It includes the following topics: operations on integers and rational numbers, solving linear equations and linear inequalities, rules of exponents, polynomial algebra, and simplifying radical expressions. Students who successfully complete the course are advised to continue their mathematics journey by taking MAT115, MAT120 or MAT107 (major appropriate) in the semester immediately following the USM 100 exit. USM 100 students will be introduced to various LaGuardia CC academic programs. Moreover, they will be closely assisted with the creation of their academic success plans.
