This Career Pathways course is designed to give students a strong foundation in basic mathematical principles and computation, covering place value, estimation, comparison of numbers, using a calculator, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Intensive instruction will be given in decimals, fractions (including ratios), and/or percents, given over consecutive 40 hour sessions. Geometry may include perimeter, area, and volume as well as mean, median and mode. Order of operations and solving for an unknown in simple equations plus solving problems with information on graphs, tables, or charts will be touched on. The main focus of this class is the workplace with a workforce focus or application.
