This Career Pathways course is designed to give students the mathematics instruction that they need to be successful on the GED test, in college classes, in job training programs, and on the job. Instruction covers a review of fractions, decimals, proportion, probability, and percents. Geometry topics will include perimeter, area, volume, angles, congruent and similar figures, Pythagorean relationship, and simple proofs. Table, graphs, and charts will be used as part of problem solving. Algebra topics will include signed numbers, order of operations, simplifying expressions, solving multi-step equations, using formulae, factoring, inequalities, coordinate plane, and solving for x. The main contextual focus of this class is the workplace. All activities should have a workforce focus or application, which is communicated to the student.
