BAS412C — Intensive GED
This intensive class is designed for students on a high intermediate reading level whose main goal is to achieve their GED certificate at an accelerated rate. Instruction is given in reading, writing, and math skills. In the reading component, critical thinking skills, such as comprehension, application, analysis, evaluation, and synthesis are stressed. The writing component includes sentence, paragraph, and essay structure, and application of basic grammar rules. Computation and mathematical applications of whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percents are taught. Basic geometry and algebra are incorporated into the curriculum. Courses are open enrollment. Section hours may vary.
