This class is designed for speakers of other languages who are not fluent in English. Thses classes may be multilevel and should be tailored to meet student needs and goals. The class will include speaking, reading, writing, and listening components and will concentrate on every day English skills. Instruction in writing includes sentence structure, basic grammar, and writing for various purposes. Instruction in reading will range from decoding words to comprehension of articles, essays, or short stories. The speaking component will range from basic greeting and conversation to issues of pronunciation. Listening instruction will cover basic social and workplace interactions. Vocabulary and basic grammar will be covered throughout the four main areas of instruction. Courses are open enrollment.
