BAS450 — Intensive ABE
This intensive twenty-four hour per week class is designed for pre and post twenty-four month SPOC clients between reading level 5 and 8.9. Basic reading, writing, and math skills, such as comprehension, application, analysis, evaluation, and synthesis are stresses. The writing component includes sentence, paragraph, and essay structure, and application of basic grammar rules. Computation and mathematical applications of whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percents are taught. Basic geometry and algebra are incorporated into the curriculum. Computers are used in the classroom to enhance job preparedness skills and literacy skills.
