BAS502 — Workplace ESL (PA Win)
This course is intended for English as a Second Language students in a workplace setting. Course will focus on areas identified through needs assessment. The course will focus on Work-based Foundation Skills as defined by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. The skill areas for this ESL class would include any combination of the following skills: Reads with Understanding, Listens with Understanding, Speaks Clearly and Concisely, and Writes Clearly and Concisely. Lessons will be customized to the particular workplace setting and may include objectives similar to the following: improving work-specific vocabulary, greeting customers, reading work orders, comprehending customer requests, giving directions to customers, etc. Materials used will be authentic workplace materials. Courses are open enrollment.
