BAS830 — Project-Based Literacy
This course is designed to involve students in project-based activities that involve interviewing others, researching local government and business locations, taking field trips to local community sites or events, writing a newsletter among other activities.Students develop skills in the areas of reading comprehension and writing documents, paragraphs, essays, memos, etc. Students practice their speaking skills and critical listening skills.The instructor is a facilitator meant to guide students through the activities and provide input to hone and focus student learning. This is a class whereby the instructor acts as a guide and support, rather than a lecturer.
