BIO111 — General Biology II

The sequel to BIO 110 (assumes General Biology I coverage upon entry to class) and thus completes the in-depth, two-part course in modern biology. Topics include: evolution, cellular metabolism, plant and animal taxonomy and biology. It will also include selected tools used by biologists, such as the use of the microscope, chromatography, polymerase chain reaction, electrophoresis and spectrophotometery. Considerable dissection across several phyla may be required. Detailed laboratory coverage accompanies the lecture portion of this course.
