Provides the fundamentals for effective project planning, execution, and control. Subject areas covered include: development of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS); the use of scheduling tools, information systems; other techniques to be able to producs an effective project plan and supporting detail for implementation; discussion on the pros and cons of alternative project organizations and tips for selecting project team members; general management skills and specific project management skills necessary to manage the execution of a project; discussion on effective techniques for project status meetings; work authorization methods and supporting information system requirements; discussion on change control systems; configuration management and performance management; what kinds of communications are effective to keep project stakeholders informed; techniques for expediting the implementation of changes and updating project plans.
