An extensive classroom vignette vividly illustrates NAEYC principles in administration and teaching, reminding students that in addition to promoting family-centered practices, teachers must also work ethically with children, colleagues, families, and communities. Gardner's theory of Multiple Intelligences is presented, with a focus on applications in differentiating instruction with young children. Guiding principles for appropriately applying differentiated instruction and MI theory in teaching and assessment are outlined.
