CAR409 — PlaygroundAide/CareerDevProg
Part A: 12 hours, Students will be exposed to career education seminars, career exploration workshops and activities, and guest speakers from area businesses and industry. During this time the participants will explore specific career clusters in education, healthcare, logistics and transportation, technical training, and business. The participants will take part in "Choices CT" which is a career assessment tool that will help them determine the careers they would be most successful at given their likes and dislikes.Part B: 60 hours, Students will receive instruction in employability skills and leadership skills while also attaining the industry-recognized "National Career Readiness Certificate" through the "WorkKeys" program. Students will be pre-tested using the skills remediation tool, "Keytrain.".
