The Road to Successful Conference Presentations: You, too, can Present at a Conference!What do you want to learn at conferences? What presentations capture your interest? Think about these items and then ask yourself: What do I have to offer to OT practitioners? What new occupations have I started using with my clients? What innovative solutions have I developed to address the new reimbursement guidelines? This short course will provide concrete information on the preparation of a presentation at any conference-local, state, national, and international. The session will discuss self-evaluation of knowledge, skills and experience; how to review conference materials to see if your expertise fits; how to select a topic; writing quantitative and measurable learning activities; and locating research articles to support your presentation. Brainstorming with experienced conference presenters will provide guidance along with hands-on activities.
