Attendees will be active participants in learning about posture, positioning, and the importance of wheeled mobility for client function. Attendees will review the risk factors for pressure injuries, participate in pressure mapping, practice with seating options, as well as, learn the basic guidelines for proper seating. Options for wheeled mobility will be reviewed and hands on opportunities will be available for participants to try various methods for wheelchair propulsion.Participants will be able to:Identify the risk factors for pressure injuriesDemonstrate strategies to reduce pressure injuries and properly utilize pressure reduction equipmentDescribe the guidelines for seating: including anatomical considerations, measuring for correct equipment and posture considerationsIdentify strategies for correcting abnormal postureIdentify potential sources of, and describe alternate technology options for wheelchair mobility.
