Building Performance Institute, Inc. (PBI) certification helps your business stand out from the crowd. The stringent requirements for achieving certification tell your customers that you put the best talent and expertise in the field-building trust and long term customer relationships. Raise the bar for home improvement contracting for our region. Make sure your plumbing, electrical, construction and HVAC professionals are BPI Certified and know how to apply a "house-as-system" technique for upgrading the performance of home systems. Participants will be able to: Describe and communicate the process and purpose of home energy auditing; Perform field inspections and building diagnostics; Make meaningful recommendations for installation measures that will enhance comfort, health, safety, building durability, and energy savings. Upon successful completion of the training, participants will take the written and field testing for Building Performance Institute certification (BA1). Field testing will be scheduled in 2 hour appointments during the week following the training. This class is being offered in partnership with AFC First Financial and will be held at DEP offices throughout Pennsylvania. Cost is $1975, state tuition rebate of $500 for PA contractors through Keystone HELP program on successful completion of course.
