CAR988 — Maint Assist Skills Training
This course will give you a strong foundation in electrical; mechanical; and heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) and refrigeration systems as well as concepts, theories, and practical hands-on skills for performing maintenance under the supervision of a maintenance technician or director of plant maintenance. This 250-hour course will cover basic industrial math and measurement; fundamentals of electricity, including safety, AC/DC circuit operation and analysis; meter usage; schematics and circuit components operation; computer components; keyboarding and Windows as they relate to industrial control circumstances; basic cycle systems; system components; and diagnosing and problem solving. This 16-week course meets evenings and weekends for the convenience of working individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in this field. Successful completion of this program can lead to a tuition free Associates Degree in Manufacturing Technology. Students must meet with program coordinator prior to registration.
