0 credits · 8 hours

"Pysanky" is an ancient art form, handed down over the centuries. Over 2000 years ago, people decorated eggs be- lieving that they possessed great powers. Students will learn basic techniques and colors as well as the symbol- ism behind the designs. Each student will complete 1-2 eggs. Please bring to class a roll of paper towels, a candle holder for a small taper candle, matches, a pencil and old newspapers. You will need to order your supply kit on-line @"www.surmastore.com". A book, Ukranian Easter Eggs, by Knit and Luciow, may be ordered on-line as well, but is not required. (Eggs will be provided.)
