EMS475 — Accelerated EMT
The Accelerated EMT Class is extremely fast-paced, dynamic and highly structured, designed to certify education to individuals likely to respond to pre-hospital emergencies, including didactic presentation, skill demonstration, hands-on practical skill workshops and practical experience provided by the partnering hospital and PA State Certified EMT instructor team. AHA CPR and Haz Mat Awareness requirements completed during class. The Lehigh Valley Program is held at the George E. Moerkirk Emergency Medicine Institute (EMI) of LVHN, 2100 Mack Blvd., Allentown, and clinical experiences are at LVHN sites. Required textbook can be purchased at EMI about 1 month before class start and picked up between the hours of 7:30-11:30 am and 12:30-3:30 pm. Prerequisites for those participants are:1. National Incident Management System (NIMS) 100 and 700 online2. Physician's release form and list of inoculations (forms sent to registrants several weeks before class)3. Proof of medical insurance4. PA Criminal History Clearance online5. PA Child Abuse Clearance online6. Home internet/computer access for online testingThe Tamaqua program is held at the Morgan Campus of LCCC, 234 High St., Tamaqua, PA. The textbook is included in the tuition and available at the first class. The pre-requisites for this class are numbers 2. through 5. above.Details of pre-requisites sent out in email or letter along with medical forms, well before class start date to all who are registered, and due back a full week before the first class.
